At the end of the year, Centric is once again supporting institutions that are committed to helping, among other, children, teenagers, and young adults: In addition to the Förderkreis der Schule Am Krausen Bäumchen e.V. in Essen, these include the Kinderdorf Am Köllnischen Wald in Bottrop, the Föderkreis der Kita Kleine Riesen, the Verein für krebskranke Kinder Hannover e.V., the Weisser Ring, the Förderturm - Ideen für Essener Kinder e.V. and the HSV-Stiftung Hamburger Weg. “We want to help ensure that people get the support they need,” says Jens-Peter Hess, Managing Director of Centric.
“Children are the future – empowering them and giving them the best possible start in life is a guiding principle of our commitment,” says Steven Wernike, Managing Director of Centric. Most of the suggestions for the organizations come from Centric employees.
For example, a donation was made to the Am Krausen Bäumchen school, which is located in the immediate vicinity of Centric's office in Essen.
The Förderkreis der Schule Am Krausen Bäumchen e.V. (Friends of the Krausen Bäumchen School Association) was founded in 1982 with the aim of improving the teaching and learning environment for pupils at the Krausen Bäumchen School.
To this end, the association purchases teaching and learning materials that exceed the limited school budget and promotes social interaction within the school by financing school events.
At the same time, it supports children whose families cannot afford to pay for participation in joint class activities, and it finances additional care groups in which pupils are looked after outside school hours. The association is also involved in a circus project planned for 2026, in which schoolchildren will have a week of circus lessons.
Centric employee Christian Schnittmann, who is also the association's first chairman, presented the donation to school principal Monika Hillebrand and Janine Schnittmann, the association's second chairwoman.
Centric once again visited the “Am Köllnischen Wald” children's village to present the donation to the Caritas facility. Centric employee Linda Schellhase was welcomed by educational director Martin Wilms, Robert Junker, an educator from Haus Regenbogen, and the dog Baki.
The children's village offers a home and prospects to children and young people whose education cannot be guaranteed in their families of origin.
“We are very grateful for Centric's ongoing support,” says Martin Wilms. “This form of commitment gives us the freedom to organize activities in our groups that we would otherwise not be able to offer, but which are very important for the young people's social learning.”
The children's village is home to almost 100 children and young people in ten residential groups.
As in the previous year, Centric is supporting the Weisser Ring organization at the end of the year. Around 3,000 people volunteer for Germany's largest aid organization for victims of violence and crime.
Centric also supported Friends Cup e.V. During the “More than a warm meal” campaign, a festive meal in Hamburg's fish auction hall, HSV legends, actors, and music stars served a three-course meal to needy people. Around 460 homeless and needy people enjoyed an evening that opened hearts – and gave many the feeling of being seen. At 60 festively decorated tables, over 40 prominent Hamburg residents, together with 100 other volunteers, served a lovingly prepared meal.
A first for Centric is the support of the Association for Children with Cancer in Hanover (Verein für krebskranke Kinder Hannover e.V.. The association has set itself the task of offering emotional and social support to children with cancer and their families, helping to expand the technical and diagnostic equipment at the Children's Hospital of the Hannover Medical School, and supporting research.
