Centric offers comprehensive support to all customers currently facing the challenge of evolving their SAP architecture: Centric’s Audit & Compliance tools are already H4S4-ready, meaning customers do not need to make any adjustments to these solutions during their transformation projects.
“We have updated our software products so that they are already fully compatible with the new SAP H4S4 environment,” says Steven Wernike, Managing Director of Centric in Germany. “In addition, we guarantee our customers support and continued development of our solutions through 2040. ” Furthermore, Centric promises that the solutions will also be available for the future generation of SAP payroll systems.
This initiative by Centric is a response to the upcoming replacement of SAP HCM by the on-premises solution H4S4, which presents significant technological and operational challenges for many Centric customers. Since most companies have customized SAP HCM to meet their specific requirements and needs, particularly in the area of payroll, each system must be individually upgraded to the required technical level.
Given that SAP is replacing the old R/3 architecture with S/4HANA across the board, this requires significant time, financial, and human resources. The solutions currently in use based on the old R/3 architecture will continue to be supported by SAP in regular operation until 2027. Support for existing solutions will then be offered until 2030, though at a very high cost. According to SAP’s plans, they will be permanently decommissioned in 2040.
This development means that many companies must migrate their SAP HCM environments, including payroll, to H4S4. This is because, particularly in the DACH region, there are many companies for whom the switch to SAP SuccessFactors—with its much more limited capabilities for payroll processing—is simply not an option.
H4S4 has been available since 2022, but only a few companies are currently using the system. Before switching to H4S4, a so-called readiness check must be performed. This check identifies which adjustments are necessary prior to the migration. Since audit and compliance tools are of central importance in many companies, their compatibility is tested very early on in many projects.
“We want to provide our customers with optimal support for their challenging transformation projects,” says Steven Wernike. “That’s why we’ve already ensured that our solutions work seamlessly in the new H4S4 environment. This way, companies can consider this issue resolved as they move toward H4S4.”
For Centric customers, updating their tools provides significant relief during this transition. Centric’s updated tools are now ready for the new SAP environment, meaning they have passed a readiness check required by SAP. This ensures they will not cause any issues in the new SAP environment. Customers receive a version of their solutions prepared for H4S4 by updating their tools as part of their support packages. “The customer needs to perform a single update and install the latest version of our tools into their system to be ready for the H4S4 environments,” says Steven Wernicke.
There are no additional costs, no extra effort, and no additional training requirements for customers.
Centric promises support and further development of its products through 2040, providing customers with long-term security. Furthermore, Centric guarantees that its solutions will also be available for the future generation of SAP payroll systems.
